Niceville, FL – January 21, 2026 – Vertex Solutions, a leader in advanced learning technology and XR-enabled training systems, announced today a follow-on contract from the U.S. Navy to produce and deliver thirteen T-6B Immersive Training Device (ITD) Part Task Trainers, expanding the Navy’s growing fleet of next-generation training systems. This marks the second Delivery Order issued on the single-award XR STASC IDIQ and continues Vertex’s SBIR Phase III transition supporting the U.S. Navy.
Under this new award, Vertex will deliver 13 XR ITDs and 50 modernization retrofit kits designed to bring existing Navy ITDs to a common, updated configuration. Retrofit packages will be fielded across NAS Corpus Christi and NAS Whiting Field, ensuring consistent performance and readiness across two of the Navy’s busiest undergraduate pilot training locations. All deliveries are scheduled over a 12-month performance period.
This expanded effort accelerates the Navy’s transition to scalable, cost-effective XR training, delivering higher throughput for T-6B pilot production, reducing traditional training bottlenecks, and strengthening the Navy’s ability to meet future pilot demand.
“We’re proud to continue supporting the Navy’s vision for modern, distributed training,” said Sandra Reiter, Chairwoman and CEO, Vertex Solutions. “This follow-on order reflects the Navy’s confidence in our immersive training devices and our ability to rapidly deliver reliable, high-fidelity technology that improves student performance and training outcomes.”
Vertex’s XR ITDs draw from the company’s long lineage of successful SBIR innovation, proven in programs such as Project Corsair (T-45C) and the USAF’s Pilot Training Transformation (PTT) initiative. With this award, Vertex continues to expand its role in bringing immersive, modular, and upgradeable training capabilities to U.S. and allied aviation customers.
“Our team is committed to building training systems that evolve with the mission,” said Chris Whitty, Chief Growth Officer, Vertex Solutions. “This award strengthens the Navy’s XR training ecosystem and reinforces the value of scalable hardware, modern software architecture, and continuous technology refresh.”
Vertex looks forward to delivering these ITDs in close collaboration with its trusted partners, including Varjo, RYAN AEROSPACE, TakeFlight, and ASTi.
