Development & Integration of Emulation Hardware for Military Systems
While many of Vertex’s successfully delivered and adopted XR training solutions are purely virtual (no physical components), our skilled technical team and instructional designers have the background and experience to determine where and when physical emulation hardware is required to meet training functionality and fidelity goals. Some of our past successes include:
- Integration of a multitude of flight hardware emulation components with delivered XR training solutions including motion platforms, force feedback controls, custom flight chairs, instruction operator station hardware and more.
- Design, development, and manufacturing of USB peripherals that add capacitive touch sensitivity to flight training emulation hardware. This capability eliminates any spatial mismatch between trainees’ virtual hands and virtual flight control when interacting with connected physical flight controls – an effect that can disrupt training immersion.
- Development of a wearable USB plug-and-play and reconfigurable diving hardware emulation solution to support development of muscle memory development during use of XR diving training solutions. The emulator allows trainees to interact with correctly placed physical controls, swim virtually using representative leg motions, and quickly reach for and hold capacitive touch sensitive gauge emulators while viewing the corresponding virtual representation.
