Systems & Physics Models for Training Applications
The ability to deliver realistic and real time simulation of the dynamics of complex military systems, e.g. aircraft, vehicles, weapons, wearable equipment, etc., is crucial to enabling military personnel to train like they fight. Vertex’s highly skilled technical staff has the expertise, including multiple graduate-level degrees in physics and various engineering disciplines, to:
- Identify and integrate existing system simulation solutions capable of meeting customer training fidelity requirements within larger simulation and training architectures.
- Extend and improve existing system simulation solutions when necessary.
- Develop complex, first principles & physics-based, real time simulations of the dynamics of military systems from scratch.
For example, Vertex’s naval diving simulations are based on an internally developed and extensible model of diving physics including diving hardware gas/fluid dynamics, electrical systems, physical valves, multi-phase chemistry (CO2 scrubber physics), human respiratory dynamics, human body tissue nitrogen tensions and more. The model was expertly derived by Vertex personnel using available naval hardware and diver performance data and validated against experimental data obtained from end users.
